Cable installer – telecommunications (Positions 2)

Requirements:

College
Experience in the telecommunications industry for 2 Years
English
Work will be at Various locations in lower mainland
 

Job Duties:

•        Building and patching network panels and installing data, Audio & Video, and voice wiring and connections.

•        Working with copper (UTP, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a) and fiber optic media types,

•        Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment, • Running wires through ceilings and drywall;

•        Testing and inspecting end to end wiring.

•        Repairing faults in cabling and patch panels.

•        Splice, join and connect wires

•        Inspect, monitor, test and adjust telecommunication transmission lines and cables and distribution systems

•        Read and interpret blueprints

•        Analyze and record test results

•        Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures

•        Complete and maintain test and service reports

•        Create networking cables such as fiber optic SC connectors using splicing tools and networking standards

•        Termination and routing of various cabling, including COAX/1694A, Cat5, Cat6, and Fiber.

•        Troubleshoot and maintain fiber optic networks and copper cable network

•        Helping Lead technician on the cabling during equipment installation.

•        Performing maintenance on existing cabling systems.

•        Installing of cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and inner duct.

•        Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to standards.

Remuneration: $ 40.03.00/hour ,32 hours per week.
